Sophie is a highly empathetic director with a natural curiosity about the world. She is drawn to stories of human interest and much of her experience lies in sensitive access series and programmes of a complex legal nature. She also enjoys developing her own ideas and has received development funding from the BBC and Channel 4 for her original projects.

Sophie was selected as a Broadcast Hotshot 2025 and a TV Collective’s Breakthrough Leader 2024 (in partnership with BBC Studios, Sky, Amazon, ITV, Freemantle). She was awareded a place on the BBC New Documentary Directors’ Initiative 2021/22, the Channel 4 Commissioning Mentor Programme 2019/20, the Edinburgh International Television Festival’s Ones to Watch Scheme 2019 and BAFTA Guru Pro 2016.

Sophie is the owner of full Sony FS7 and A7S kits and a Ronin SC Gimbal. She has an iVisa for travel to the USA, which is valid until December 2026.
